A one-day non-assessed course recommended by HSE, in the new ACOP L74, as the minimum level of training for persons in low-risk workplace environments.

Who Should Attend?
Any member of an organisation who is likely to find themselves taking charge or who has been appointed to take charge of First Aid equipment or during a First Aid emergency, in the absence of a qualified First Aider.

Course Content (1 Day)
Delegates will receive training in a range of First Aid subjects including:
• Aims and principles of First Aid
• What to do in an emergency
• Resuscitation (Basic Life Support)
• Management of the unconscious casualty
• Dealing with a choking casualty
• Assessment and treatment of a casualty who is wounded or bleeding
• Incident recording and reporting

Course content (Half Day)
Delegates will receive training in a range of First Aid subjects including:
• Principles of emergency aid
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Recognition and control of bleeding
• Management of the unconsciousness casualty
• Incident recording and reporting
Course Outcome
On successful completion of the course delegates will receive a certificate of attendance, which is valid for 3 years
